After working in IT for many years handling tasks ranging from software programming, network and database administration, and help desk support, I know realize I need to specialize to advance my career. The two areas I have a interest in specializing are Cisco or Oracle DBA. I find them both vey interesting, but which of these 2 areas of specialization would give me the best chance at career advancement?

As I also done Oracle Developer Track, so, according you my personal experience Oracle DBA is best, but its not mean Cisco CCNA is not good one, and its also depend on the country where you are living. And I suggest you to choose the field in which you feel yourself have a deep knowledge and you can practice the best.

Wish you a Good Luck in your Career.

As an offshoot to the question, which certification is actually cheaper...i mean if you are thinking of eventually getting the 'expert' certification level for either certs?
